The Ripple Effect

I feel so blessed to have found my life partner, who is a wonderful, caring and considerate person. We've been married for twenty-five years, and despite the many trials and tribulations life throws at you, he's remained a loving and supportive husband ... even through menopause!

Then a couple of years ago, things began to change. From being the perfect couple who intuitively knew what the other needed, we suddenly became ‘out of kilter’ with one another. Nothing I said or did was right and when he walked in the door at the end of the day, I immediately felt the negative energy surrounding him. It was heartbreaking and so confusing as to what was causing this new pattern of behaviour.

Sometime during this difficult period, I’d also begun to question everything that is and became aware of an Inner Feeling that I was here to do something, but had absolutely no idea what this was. A close friend recognised this change in me and suggested that Qigong might help me to feel more connected and bring greater balance to my life. This was the start of my road to self-discovery and releasing everything that didn’t belong to me. With daily practice over the following year, I gradually began to feel a strong connection to everything that is and feel my own energy becoming much softer and quieter. I later recognised this as being the same energy I’d had as a child.

Very slowly, I began to sense other changes too which were happening as a ripple effect within the family. The friction between my husband and me dissipated and we gradually began to be on the same page as one another again. He became chilled and laid back, happy to go with the flow of the family and very loving once again. Our daughter, who’d suffered severe lack of confidence and bouts of depression after years of bullying at school, gradually became a happy, self-confident young woman who found new motivation for university and now excels in her papers. Our beautiful Archie who came to us as a fearful and anxious rescue dog, is now so chilled out and happy he’s almost comatose. And everyone who visits our home comments that it has such a wonderful feel.

I took up Qigong by being in the right place at the right time when I was ready to embrace it and as I now know, everything happens for a reason! Practising Qigong has not only helped me, it’s also changed the whole vibration of our home and everyone in it. Everything feels lighter, easier … and life feels good!
